Time to get a bit of relaxation before the Christmas mayhem. There are still short breaks available in Douglas’s Barn. Plenty going on in the Peak District. Lots of Christmas markets selling lovely gifts that you don’t see elsewhere. Chatsworth House is also a must at this time of year. There are plenty of stories from the classics and modern tales being told around the halls. The house itself has been decorated and the Twilight evenings there are brilliant. Hope to see you here.
Lots of events to go to in and around Parwich today but managed to get to the Horticultural Show in Parwich and the Hartington Show. Missed out on the Antiques in Ashbourne though which is always worth going to. Izzy did better than me by getting 1st prize as the Prettiest Bitch at Hartington Show and I got second prize for my cooking apples in Parwich show. Not a bad day all round.
So the sun may not be shining at the moment but we are going into one of my favorite times of year – AUTUMN. If the weather follows previous years we are in for a lovely September and October and even November can still be delightful. This time of year attracts reduced rate for some weeks as it is not always the most popular time to away – not sure why as I could do a few days away at any time. The bonus of visiting in the Autumn is it can be quite and makes travelling around to beauty spots in the Peak District more enjoyable. Check out the prices for this time of year and treat yourselves to a few days, or even a week, in one of the lovely, cosy, romantic holiday barns. keep a look out for last minute deals or give us a call if you can’t find available dates to suit your requirements. Hoping to see as many people as we can for a lovely Autumn in Parwich, Derbyshire.
Summer may be coming to an end so you need to start planning a nice autumn break. There are vacancies in October and November and the prices are cheaper from the end of September. If you want a specific break that doesn’t appear to be available on the web site please give me a call. We are very flexible about number of days stay and also the days you can book in and book out. 5% discount for returning guests make it even more attractive.
We have been having the most glorious May. The gardens are looking splendid and we have had lots of guests enjoying the lovely Peak District. We have had to turn our attention, as lots of others have, to become compliant with new laws.
It may still be a bit chilly but the blossom is out at Orchard Farm. Looking forward to some nice warm weather for our guests to enjoy. Lots of bookings already for May, June and July but still a few gaps just waiting to be filled. Hoping to see new and returning guests to Tom and Douglas Barns this year.
As winter seems determined to creep into Spring it seems appropriate to have a post Easter offer. Mid April is a lovely time to start to blow away the cobwebs. What better place to be than a brisk walk or leisurely stroll in the Peak District. The weather will be warmer, can’t be any colder than it is at the moment, the lambs will be out jumping around he fields and the flowers will be blooming. Why not treat yourself to a few days away or even a week. Prices reduced for Tom’s Barn mid April to the beginning of May and Douglas’s mid April to the end of May.
Douglas’s Barn is available for last minute bookings between 2 and 23 March 2018. Why not treat yourself to an early Spring Break in the lovely Peak District. The nights are getting lighter and after the promise of snow this week I am sure spring and the daffodils will be waiting to burst through. Minimum stay is 2 nights and any dates can be considered. Price for 3 nights £345, 2 nights £245.
Still chance to surprise you Valentine with a couple of days away in the Peak District. Douglas’s Barn is available for a mid week break. Cake and a romantic barn awaits. Worth sneaking off from work for a couple of nights
What a difference from last week when our guests were battling through snow to get here and to get out again. Today the sun has been shining and and it had a bit of a feeling of spring. Can’t wait for spring to get out in the garden and start work in the new greenhouse. There are lots of bookings coming in but still a chance to get a short break away before Easter when it starts to get busy in the Peak District.
There is still time to book a last minute Christmas get away in Douglas’s Barn. The weather may be cold but the barn is very warm and cosy. Why not treat yourselves to a get away from it all break. You can order all your supplies from one of the supermarkets, get it delivered and […]
