EV Charging available on site

We are pleased to be able to offer an EV charging point on site for guests staying in the barns. Charges for its use will be based on the price per kwh that we will be paying to our supplies at the time of use.

Welcome 2024 and welcome Ollie

Wishing all our past present and future guests a very Happy New Year.

Following the sad passing of Barni in June we made a decision to have another dog to keep Izzy company. We were hoping to rehome a Vizsla but there were none suitable. Izzy’s sister was in pup and we were lucky enough to get a boy puppy, Ollie, who is a half brother to Barni.
He has a different personality to Barni who was quite a character. Hopefully Ollie will be a bit more chilled out.

The barns continued to have a great group of guests in last year which makes running them so enjoyable. We are so lucky to be able to share our home with such lovely people.

We are looking forward to the New Year and the challenges it brings

Open Gardens at Orchard Farm

Its open gardens again tomorrow at Orchard Farm. The lovely hot sunny weather has been great for us but the gardens have really suffered. Lots of rain in the last few days have saved the day and everything is looking lovely for Parwich Open Gardens tomorrow. Rambling Rector is again in full bloom!
Lots of gardens are open in the village, including Orchard Farm, hopefully the sun will shine, the rain clouds won’t make an appearance until later on and we have lots of visitors to our beautiful Peak District village.

Welcome back

We are fully open and welcoming lots of guests. Great to see people here and share our home and lovely countryside. Looking forward to hospitality opening up more for Monday 17 May 2021. The village pub The Sycamore and The British Legion will be able to welcome guests inside which is good when the sun goes in. They have all done well to provide a service in outside facilities since April as have most of those great cafes and pubs that we all love across the Peak District. A lot of facilities have made adaptions that I have to say enhanced the facilities that they already provided. Hassop Station has made great changes to their facilities which has made their offerings even more attractive. There are a couple of dates 24 – 29 May and the 5 – 11 June which have become available in Douglas Barn. Other dates are still available in both Barns for the following months. Hope to see you here soon.

Re opening from 12 April 2021

We are planning to re-open on the 12 April 2021. We already have quite a few bookings so to save disappointment it is worth getting your booking in. Our cancellation policy is such that should your booking need to be cancelled due to Government Covid restrictions on travel etc a full refund or transfer of booking date will be made.

The local pub will be able to serve drinks and food outside in the beer garden and the British Legion in the village is also planning to serve drinks outside in its new re-vamped space.

We are looking forward to a busy summer, good weather and lots of happy people who are so pleased to be able to get away to the country for a well deserved break.

It is lovely and quite in Parwich, great scenery, lovely walks and very close to some lovely countryside and attractions.

The barns are so welcoming Why wouldn’t you want to come and stay?

Bookings being taken for 2021

We are very much still open for business and looking forward to being able to open as soon as it is safe. It is going to be unlikely before the 8 March but keeping our fingers crossed for Easter. We are taking bookings and it is worth looking at our cancellation policy which you will find on the web site. To re-assure those people worried about booking and losing money due to a further Covid lockdown. Our policy for bookings that are cancelled due to Covid is to repay in full any monies paid. We do however charge a £25 administration fee to cover banking charges etc.
Our experience from last year is that once people are allowed to travel bookings flood in and we have a problem accommodating everyone. It is worth booking even if you need to cancel due to Covid. Other cancellation reasons we will work with you to see if we can move the booking to another date. Last year some people moved bookings 3 times. We value our guests and want them to come and visit and enjoy what we have to offer here in the Peak District which has just been named as the 4th best National Park in Europe in the Trip Advisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Why would you go anywhere else!

We are awaiting government guidelines….

We hope that you are all having a reasonable Christmas, not what any of us had anticipated.

At present we are awaiting the latest government guidelines on Tiers and what that means for tourism.

We are taking bookings in anticipation of being able to re open soon.

There should be an update on 30 December 2020.

Stay safe

Christmas at Tom’s Barn

Why not get away from it all for the 5 day Christmas Bubble in the lovely, cosy Tom’s Barn. We will be open from the 23 – 27 December 2020 and Tom’s Barn is available for booking. The Sycamore Inn in Parwich Village, 10 mins walk away will be open for Christmas lunches so you can eat, drink and retreat for a lovely restful few days in front of the log burner in Tom’s Barn. If you want to have Christmas food delivery we can be here to take it in and put it away ready for your arrival.
Bookings are available for a minimum of 2 nights. If you have any queries about coming to stay please give me a call or email.
We have full Covid 19 cleaning regime in place, The We’re Good to go award and The AA covid award so rest assured you will be safe and warm in our little barn

Dates available in September – Tom’s Barn

Tom’s Barn is now available for short or long stays between 21 September and 1 October 2020. Why not treat yourself to a few days away in this lovely Peak District Village. The barn is self contained so once you are here you have your own space to enjoy a no doubt well earned break away from it all.You can put a food order into all the usual supermarkets or try the local Sauced Here local suppliers.

When are we re opening?

Just giving everyone an update on the latest information about when we may be able to welcome guests back to Tom and Douglas Barns.

Following the announcements by the Prime Minister on Sunday evening the Government has published a recovery roadmap, The document states that the 4 July 2020 is the  potential re opening date for the hospitality sector. This includes accommodation and attractions.

We are continuing to work hard with Business Peak District and VisitBritain on the proposals for recovery. We are awaiting guidance on what will be required and a kitemark being developed to reassure visitors of cleanliness and responsible practices.

Business Peak District is also working closely with shops and attractions to put in place adjustments that will help them being able to open.

Car parks have already opened but the facilities at car parks will not all be open.

As soon as we have any further update we will share it with you.

Stay Safe

Ange and Robert Roebuck
