A lovely holiday

Perfect welcome, lovely barn, 10/10. 5*. Dovedale beautiful, Bakewell the best town, ideally placed for walking. Look for the kestrels on the telegraph wires on the walk from here to Tissington, buzzards also – lovely holiday. P&P September 2015

Another visit to the barns!

We looked back through the guest book and found we have been coming here to Tom’s or Douglas’s Barn for 6 years! The haven’t changed really and that is a very good thing. Once again a relaxing, perfect visit that we don’t want to end. J&P Oct 2015

Sometimes it rained….

Sometimes it rained and sometimes it didn’t!. Who cares we have had a very relaxing few days – no matter how hard we tried we didn’t make it out of the cottage until midday. It’s such a cosy, country cottage and so hard to leave. We have had great walks in Dovedale, Monsal Head and dale and a trip to Chatsworth. Thanks for the fizzy in the fridge, we celebrated again the special birthday. So off back to the madness of Brighton (which we love). We go with Autumn leaves in our hair and much on our shoes J&J Oct 2015

A great place to get engaged

This has been one of the most amazing weekends of our lives and a massive part is due to Douglas’s Barn & Angela. We received the warmest of welcomes (with beautiful cake) followed by a very special couple of days. The barn is peaceful and idyllic and we will never forget the time we spent there. Thank you for everything, we couldn’t think of a better place to get engaged!! p.s we are planning our next visit. A&Z August 2015

Our first but hopefully not last visit

This was our first visit to Tom’s Barn and we were not disappointed! What a gorgeous place to stay. Lovely accommodation with fantastic walks and all the little touches made it a simply wonderful little break. Thank you so much for accommodating us at short notice it was very much appreciated. We hope to come back. J, S and Rusty

Our first anniversary

What an amazing place to spend our first anniversary in. Kitted out amazingly and decorated beautifully. Thanks to Janet for the warm welcome and also for the supplies. So nice to not worry about milk, bread and butter. The marmalade was delicious. The walks and the countryside have been outstanding and the next time we come we will have more than a weekend. Thanks again M&T May 2015

Peace and Tranquility

Sampled both barns now

Thank you just what we needed after a stressful few months. Pleased now to have sampled both barns. You even provided reasonable weather G&M 20/3/15                                                                                                                                      .

A Peak District hideaway

I would fully recommend this wonderful hideaway, charming, idyllic and so peaceful. Thank you for maintaining Douglas’s Barn to such a high standard and for all the thoughtful detail especially the flowers and cake! I have only had a few days here but I feel rested and at peace = I’ll definately be back Thanks you Angela J 6/3/15

  • New facilities at Tom’s and Douglas’s Barns

We have just moved the outside tap to a new position which is lot more accessible for the guests. Great for washing boots, dogs and bikes.
